On June 12, 2005, you will have the chance to be at the start of either the Walk OR Run for the Animals! 

This event is not only a great celebration of the bond that people share with animals, but it is the Humane Society of Chittenden County's most important annual fundraiser.  Our goal this year is to raise $50,000 through the support of business sponsors and the pledges that are collected by you - our Walkers & Runners.  We can only be successful with your help!

Here's how you can change the life of a homeless animal:

1. Pre-register for the Walk or Run (see details below); 

2. Collect pledges before the event & bring them with you on June 12th - The minimum is $15 per person, and everyone who raises $100+ earns an exclusive event t-shirt!  Once you register, we will mail you information and a pledge envelope so that you have everything you need to raise funds;  è Support your friends & family!  Make a donation to the Walk & Run in honor of one of our participants.  *DONATE NOW*

3. Enjoy a great day & the good feelings that come with providing homeless animals with the food, veterinary care, and shelter they need until they find new homes!
 
WALK OR RUN?

WALK
This year marks our 11th Annual Walk for the Animals!  The distance of the Walk is up to you  - it will start & end here at HSCC in South Burlington, and there are three loops to choose from once you reach the entrance of Red Rocks Park:  Puppy Path (20 minutes); Lucky Lab Loop (40 minutes); or Husky Hike (60 minutes).  As always, dogs are welcome to participate in the Walk.  The Walk will start at 10:00 am.  You can register as an Individual Walker, or as a Team.

RUN
This year, we've added something new!  The 5K Run for the Animals - an officially timed run on an out & back course – a combination of city streets and park trails.  This will be a people only, no dogs Run.  The Run will start at 9:00 am.  There is a registration fee for the Run of $15 (or $18 day of event).

Whichever part of the day you decide to register for, you will wind up the back at HSCC for a chance to enjoy music, pizza, and ice cream;  participate in the Pet Tricks Contest or the Musical Dogs game; and hear the special announcements of who were the day's top fundraisers!
