Hi!  I've had Xander (short for Alexander the Great Mousekiller) for about four years now, and I can't imagine life without him!  When I moved to Winooski I knew I needed a pal, especially since I didn't have my seventeen year old cat Sunshine anymore.  I made an appointment at HSCC and promptly fell in love with Xander the moment I saw him (he was called Romania then).  There he was, a little kitten mewing and hanging from his claws partway up the cage with a sign on the outside of it saying "Refugee kittens."  How can you resist that act on top of that face with the little heart mark? 

He settled in quickly, managed to get into all sorts of trouble just in that first day, and scratched the vet on his first visit.  Since then he hasn't really calmed down, just has better manners.  He has charmed everyone from parents, family, friends, and even pizza delivery people.  Half the time I think my family gets excited when I visit because he's coming along with me.  His favorite activities are eating tartar control treats from my hand, pretending to chase pigeons from inside, doing acrobatic jumps while attacking his fishing pole, and sleeping on his special blanket.  Thanks so much for the wonderful friend.  :)
