The Day Ginger met Rakeem

Ginger & Rakeem Ginger

Hello. We met Ginger about 3 months ago and instantly fell head over heels in love with her. I tried to adopt her that second though we had to go through the whole adoption process. After all the paperwork was complete and the date was set, we had one more matter of business to take care of - having Ginger meet our other dog, Rakeem Shabazz. We had Rakeem since he was 6½ weeks old and knew he would love having a big sister. When they met, Ginger was pretty calm, but a bit overwhelmed, as Rakeem is a playful 100+ lb. puppy, though I knew it would be an instant bond.

Wow! Three months later they are inseparable. They lay next to each other, walk together, lick each other's faces, and even enjoy sharing their bowls. I was told to have separate bowls as Ginger was protective of her "things." Well, they refuse to use separate bowls or even toys for that matter, They run in circles each holding one end of a toy.

Something told us to go to the Humane Society that day, and I'm glad we did. As you can see in the pictures, Ginger & Rakeem are spoiled as can be and are life long siblings. They even look alike even though Ginger is ½ Rotti and ½ German Sheperd, and Rakeem is ½ Rotti and ½ Akita. People look at us funny when we tell them they are not from the same litter, let alone even the same breed.

So, thank you for giving us Ginger. We love her more than anything in the world (besides Rakeem). She was brought to you so we could find her and bring where she belongs - home, cuddled in our bed with us & Rakeem!

Sincerely, Tiffany Jones & Gabriel GZ Rothblatt
