Mattie Goes to Work
Mattie has taken on the responsibility of a volunteer job! She goes with a staff member and two of our clients to the Converse Home to work as a "therapy" dog once a week. The first time she visited she tried to get the tennis balls on the residents' walkers! They all loved her. She now thinks my office (and the whole building) is something she needs to guard. She is ever vigilent and gets lots of attention from our clients and staff alike.
I can't imagine her "running the roads" in Richmond as I was told she did before she was brought into the Richmond Vet's. But the whole experience must have strengthened her because she is a feisty little thing and seems not to be afraid of anything. Yet she is loving and smart. I want to take her to intermediate obedience in the spring when it is offered again at the Humane Society.
She is finally getting used to grooming but doesn't like it.
Thanks again. I will include a few photos. -Sandy
